What do “butterfly electrodes”, paraffin wax, massage balls, and walkers all have in common? They are part of the massive list of merchandise known as physical therapy equipment. Understanding just how many products there are in this industry makes it easy to see that anyone who uses such devices will always have to have the necessary training to know which of them to use, and when to use them.

Remember that physical therapy equipment is used by physical therapists, or PTs, but is also put to use by athletic professionals, OTs or occupational therapists, professional massage therapists, and many other groups. Though an OT may be using a specific device for one of his/her patients, a massage therapist may also use the same device for an entirely different issue. This means that anyone purchasing physical therapy equipment is going to want to work with a vendor who makes it very clear as to what the device is for, and who also supplies the buyer with every sort of “specification” about the product. Benefitting From Physical Therapy

When a person becomes injured one of the first things he should do is seek health advice. It is likely the injured person will need to see a Physical Therapist in order to recover. Back and neck injuries are common. That said it is important the therapist help the patient exercise weak areas, and a complete program tailor made to the specific patient.

Having a knowledgeable and caring therapist is vital for recovery. Each injury requires different equipment and special rehab therapy. Equally important is the type and quality of the physical therapy equipment the therapist has access to. If a therapist is lacking equipment or the equipment is of poor construction the patient suffers in the end. On the other hand, arming the therapist with the proper tools of superior quality makes all the difference in the world to the patient and the therapist too.
