Use SilvaSorb Gel to Help With MRSA
MRSA or (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus) is a bacterial infection that is highly contagious and causes unsightly skin sores. It is a very dangerous condition but it is treatable. Did you know that there are even gels you can apply to a MRSA sore, such as SilvaSorb gel?
If someone in your household is infected with MRSA, there are many, many precautions that you will need to take at home, in relation to cleaning your infected loved one’s wound, dealing with their laundry, and cleaning the house to avoid your other family members becoming infected.
The most important part of caring for your sick loved one is changing the bandages over the skin sore. This is where the SilvaSorb gel will come in handy. First, you will need to wash your hands with soap and warm water. Make sure you scrub every single inch of your hands. Next, put on a pair of disposable, latex gloves. Then, take the old dressing off the sore and immediately put it in a plastic bag. You can even throw the bag away, if you like. Wash your hands again very thoroughly, and then dry them off. After you put on a fresh pair of disposable gloves, you will need to apply a fresh dressing. You can apply the SilvaSorb gel onto the wound now if you want to. The SilvaSorb gel will keep the wound hydrated, which is an integral part of healing the wound. It will also prevent harmful bacteria and fungi from entering the wound, and it will work to kill the bacteria that are already inside of the skin sore.
After you have applied the gel and the dressing, remove your gloves and put them in another plastic bag. Close the bag tightly in a knot or with a tie, and toss it in the trash. Then, thoroughly wash your hands again, making sure to scrub every single inch of your hands.
Since MRSA is a highly contagious disease, you will want to change beds and towels each day. Always wear plastic gloves when handling any laundry. Put your loved one’s laundry in a plastic container, instead of in a normal laundry basket and don’t wash it with the rest of the family’s laundry. You can use bleach and hot water to clean your loved one’s clothes, and always make sure to wash your hands and never reuse your disposable gloves.
